Becoming well not only involves the herbal products that you have been prescribed.
It also involves a commitment on your part.
Many of the diseases that plague us are due to our own lifestyles and the expectations that we place on our body. Many of us eat highly processed foods which are high in sugar, carbohydrates, salt, preservatives, colours and a whole assortment of other chemicals which keep us coming back for more.
This is certainly not the sort of food that we have evolved to eat. Is it any wonder that heart disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer are amongst our biggest killers?
Herbal Remedies
All herbal remedies are designed to enhance your body’s natural processes – not to replace them. For this reason, it is imperative that you give your body proper nutrition and the regular exercise that it requires. Always try and follow the health program that you have been prescribed.
In saying that, you should not become overly paranoid about what you eat. Eating should be a pleasure, not a burden. Sometimes people become so stressed over the foods that they want to eat but can’t, that the stress that this causes does more harm then eating the food they wanted in the first place! It is perfectly fine to have the odd “naughty food”, but the key is to have it in small quantities. The majority of your diet should be made up of fresh fruit, vegetables and small or moderate quantities of meat.
Another key to becoming well while using herbal remedies is to follow your prescription closely. Keep an eye on any symptoms that may develop and talk to your practitioner if you have any questions or problems. If you feel that the dose you are taking is too strong then cut back or stop and then talk to your practitioner – it is imperative that the communication between you and your health care provider is consistent and clear.
You should also be patient. Your body has got into this state over a long period of time. Nothing will heal overnight and most conditions take at least three months to heal. Ask your practitioner how long it should take before you start feeling relief.
Finally, the most important thing you can do is to ask questions! The only stupid
question is one that goes unasked. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions – we are here to help.
